About this opportunity

The Nala Feminist Collective (Nalafem) runs the I AM NALA Fellowship for young African women who are refugees, internally displaced, displaced or stateless and who are current or aspiring political leaders. The 2027 cohort runs from January to July 2027 and brings together 20 women from across Africa and the African diaspora, with a focus on peace negotiations, democratic transitions, reconciliation and peacebuilding.

Who can apply

Young women aged 18 to 40
African, including displaced Africans in the diaspora
Must be a refugee, internally displaced person, displaced person or stateless person; other applications will not be considered
Leading a campaign or women's group, a member of a consortium or collective focused on alliance building, engaged in cross-conflict negotiations, or a politician in office
Working on one or more of the Africa Young Women Beijing+25 Manifesto demands and aligned with Nalafem's values
Able to commit 6 hours a month online for the fellowship
