The Institute Labour and Economy (iaw) at the University of Bremen is hosting a three-day winter school for women and non-binary researchers who study work and employment relations. Between 12 and 15 doctoral and early-career researchers based in Europe will spend 8 to 10 March 2027 in Bremen developing a paper of their own with senior faculty from across Europe. There is no registration fee, and travel and accommodation are fully covered for selected participants whose institution cannot pay. **What you get:** - Travel and accommodation fully financed if your home institution has no budget to support you - No registration fee - In-depth developmental sessions on your own paper with senior faculty from universities and research institutes across Europe - Roundtables on applying for grants and building an academic career - A small cohort of 12 to 15 early-career researchers and a lasting academic network **What you'll do:** - Submit a full paper draft by 15 January 2027 and develop it during the winter school - Attend keynotes on current debates in the study of work and employment relations - Take part in a networking session with representatives of social partners **Key dates:** - Applications close 15 October 2026 - Selected participants notified by 30 November 2026 - Full paper draft due 15 January 2027 - Winter school runs 8 to 10 March 2027 in Bremen, Germany **More information:** - Apply by email to wwswork@uni-bremen.de with an extended abstract (up to 3 pages), an academic CV (up to 2 pages) and a one-page motivation letter, all in English - Your motivation letter must state any financial support you need, with estimated travel and accommodation costs and any support from your home institution, set out in a table - Incomplete and late applications will not be considered - Questions go to Timur Ergen at tergen@uni-bremen.de - Full call for applications (PDF) on the iaw website
