Newcomer Women's Services Toronto runs this free leadership and skills programme for racialized newcomer women living in Ontario. Over 16 weeks of mostly Saturday classes, participants earn two micro-credentials, one from Rotman Executive Education at the University of Toronto and one from Humber College, alongside career coaching and employment readiness training. Who can apply

  • Identify as a racialized immigrant and/or refugee woman who arrived in Canada within the last 10 years, including permanent residents, protected persons, naturalized citizens who immigrated in that period, and people admitted under a federal emergency or humanitarian measure
  • Also eligible: CUAET holders, refugee claimants, and people awaiting finalised permanent residence, each with a 900-series SIN and an open work permit
  • Aged 18 or over
  • Hold an undergraduate degree or higher
  • Currently unemployed and not attending full-time school or training
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Live in Ontario
  • Able to commit 10 hours a week and attend both in-person and virtual sessions
