About this opportunity

Uno Punto Cinco, a Chilean climate NGO, runs the Energy Transition Academy for Latin America and the Caribbean (ATE LAC), a free online course on the technical, political, economic and social sides of the energy transition in the region. It is an initiative of the Energy Transition Hub and runs over seven Thursday sessions from 15 October to 26 November 2026, taught in Spanish with simultaneous interpretation into Portuguese and English. No background in energy is needed, and there are no nationality restrictions.

What you'll do:

Attend seven two-hour online sessions on Thursdays, 10:00 to 12:00 Chile time, via Zoom and YouTube Live
Cover renewables, grids, electrification, electromobility, industrial decarbonisation, AI and cybersecurity, strategic minerals, energy poverty, energy economics and climate policy
If selected as a Participating Student, join additional 90-minute weekly group meetings and co-author a final project on how a Latin American country or the region is meeting global energy transition goals

Aged 18 or over, with no upper age limit
No nationality restrictions
Fluent in at least one of Spanish, Portuguese or English
No prior knowledge of energy, public policy or climate change required
