The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) is hosting a three-day in-person training on Gender Equality and Women's Participation in Kunming, China from 7 to 9 September 2026. It brings together around 20 participants from ASEM partner countries who work on policy, programme design, advocacy, or research on gender equality, hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of Yunnan Province. What you get: ➤ Round-trip economy airfare to Kunming reimbursed up to a set ceiling ➤ Four nights of accommodation at the training venue ➤ Three days of training led by gender equality experts and practitioners ➤ Cross-regional learning with peers from across Asia and Europe ➤ Practical tools for gender analysis and gender-responsive policy ➤ Entry into the ASEF and ASEM partner network ➤ No application fee What you'll do: ➤ Attend all sessions of the three-day in-person training in Kunming ➤ Take part in exercises on women's leadership and inclusive governance ➤ Apply gender analysis tools to your own sector or institution ➤ Develop follow-up actions feasible in your professional context ➤ Submit a letter of organisational endorsement with your application This is one of ASEF's flagship convenings under the Asia-Europe Meeting framework. Priority goes to applicants in a position to influence policy or institutional practice on gender equality. Consultants and students without relevant work experience are not eligible.
