About this opportunity

Africa Uncensored, the Nairobi-based investigative newsroom, runs this one-week advanced training with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Regional Media Programme for Sub-Saharan Africa. It takes place in Mombasa, Kenya from 4 to 8 November 2026 and is built around each participant developing a real investigative story with working reporters, editors and digital forensics experts.

What you'll do: ➤ Develop a real investigative story from your own 300 to 500 word pitch ➤ Work directly with experienced investigative reporters, editors and forensics experts ➤ Train in source protection, legal frameworks and safety protocols ➤ Join a regional network of accountability journalists

Open to journalists from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Somalia and other African countries
Minimum 3 years of active reporting experience (mid-career and senior journalists)
Staff reporters, freelancers, editors and multimedia journalists all eligible
Prior investigative or accountability reporting work, or demonstrated interest in it
Letter of support from an editor, media organisation or professional referee required
