The WIPO Global Awards recognize startups and SMEs worldwide that strategically use intellectual property (IP) to scale their businesses and create real‑world impact. The 2026 edition is the 5th year of the competition.

10 prizes across all sectors (health, agrifood, environment, creative industries, ICT, etc.)
1 thematic prize: SMEs in Sports (aligned with World IP Day 2026 theme)

Who can apply

Must be a startup or SME from a WIPO Member State
Demonstrated use of IP rights as a strategic asset
Strong business model and IP protection strategy
Clear IP commercialization plan
Contribution to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Application submitted between January 15 – March 31, 2026
Running a project or organization
Working (full-time or part-time)
