About this opportunity

The Czech Challenge Fund: Innovations for SDGs is run by the Czech-UNDP Partnership for SDGs, a UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub project financed by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It awards US$20,000 to US$40,000 to organisations that bring an innovative solution, or a feasibility study for one, to a development challenge named by UNDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia or Moldova. Applicants cover at least 20 percent of the project cost themselves, in cash or in kind.

Budget can cover project staff salaries, consultancy and design services, small equipment, training and workshops, and travel for the project

Share what you learn with Czech-UNDP Partnership specialists for publication across UNDP

Who can apply

Lead applicant must be a legally registered entity: private sector, NGO, university, state institution or research centre
Lead applicant must register as a UNDP supplier in the Quantum portal before submitting
Project must be implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia or the Republic of Moldova
If the project runs outside the country where the lead applicant is registered, a local partner is required and must be documented (Letter of Intent, bilateral contract or MoU)
Request between US$20,000 and US$40,000 and provide co-funding of at least 20 percent of total project cost, which can be in kind
Activities must be additional to the applicant's existing work and would not go ahead, or only at a much reduced scale, without the award
One application per country per entity; only one award per entity
Budget sheet must be signed by a person authorised to make legally binding commitments for the applicant
