The Ilia Calderón Scholarship, run by One Young World with the Jang Calderón Family Foundation, funds two young leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean to attend the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa. What you get: ➤ Fully funded delegate place at the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town ➤ Round-trip international economy flights to Cape Town ➤ Domestic transport to the international airport in your home country ➤ Hotel accommodation in a private room from 2 to 7 November 2026 ➤ All meals during the Summit ➤ Visa costs covered where applicable ➤ Spanish translation in plenary sessions and the opening and closing ceremonies What you'll do: ➤ Attend four days of plenaries, workshops, and networking with young leaders worldwide ➤ Represent your community in Latin America or the Caribbean ➤ Build relationships across the One Young World Ambassador Community of 17,000+ alumni ➤ Carry the Summit conversation back to the initiatives you lead locally One Young World runs the largest annual gathering of impact-driven young leaders in the world, and the 2026 Summit takes place in Cape Town from 3 to 6 November. The scholarship is named after Colombian-American journalist Ilia Calderón and has funded delegates each year since 2021. Applicants over 30 may still be considered when they show strong impact and initiative.
