It is aimed at mid-career and experienced practitioners rather than students. **What you get:** - A stipend for your time and contributions; NetHope has not published the amount and will share it with selected fellows - Guidance from NetHope's AI Fellowship Lead and periodic check-ins with NetHope subject-matter experts - Credit as a named author on the research you produce - A fully remote, part-time role open to applicants internationally **What you'll do:** - Work independently on a research project in one of two streams for about 10 hours a week - Stream 1, AI Adoption and Governance: at least two case studies of how humanitarian and nonprofit organisations adopt, govern and manage risk around AI tools - Stream 2, AI Systems and Localization: evaluate open-source and open-weight models for humanitarian use, especially offline or low-connectivity settings, and contribute to tools and fine-tuning datasets - Follow NetHope's AI Policy, Data Protection Policy and research ethics requirements **Key dates:** - Applications close October 9, 2026, and NetHope may select fellows before then - Fellowship runs mid-November 2026 to February 2027 **More information:** - Full details are in NetHope's fellowship announcement, linked from its careers page - Only applicants selected for further consideration will be contacted; if you have not heard within four weeks of the closing date, treat the application as unsuccessful
