About this opportunity

Jasiri, the East African entrepreneurship initiative of Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropies, backs proven ventures in Kenya and Rwanda that serve people who have been priced or locked out of a product or service. Its Growth Accelerator puts USD 75,000 into each selected venture through a SAFE, plus 12 months of hands-on support aimed at getting the business ready for seed investors. It is for co-founded, registered companies with at least two years of revenue, not for early ideas.

What you get:

  • USD 75,000 per venture, invested through a Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE), split between direct funding and paid-for expert support
  • Direct funding for working capital and growth assets, disbursed once the programme agreement, SAFE and growth milestones are signed off
  • Indirect funding that pays outside specialists, such as legal or technical experts, on your behalf
  • A dedicated venture builder, a financial analyst doing monthly reviews, and on-demand expert advisers
  • Investor readiness work: a three-year financial model, valuation, data room, pitch deck coaching and introductions to mandate-fit investors
  • Networking, partner introductions, and office space if required

What you'll do:

  • Co-create a Development Plan with your venture builder that sets the growth milestones your funding is tied to
  • Work through 12 months of acceleration, delivered mainly virtually wherever your venture is based in Kenya or Rwanda

  • Finish with an investor roundtable alongside a curated group of investors

Key dates:

More information:

  • Full selection process, funding terms and FAQ on Jasiri's Growth Accelerator page
