Good to know

+One of the clearest programme pages in the catalogue: two named pathways with a week-by-week flow, essential versus preferred qualifications listed separately, a three-step application, and an explicit written policy on using AI in the assignments
+Substantial relocation support: round-trip airfares, a monthly subsidy, medical insurance for interns not resident in Japan, a Japanese mobile with data, pre-arrival support and visa guidance
+No Japanese required, and HENNGE says openly that the programme is part of the pre-hiring process, with outstanding participants offered full-time employment
+The application is fair to slow, careful applicants: the coding challenge has no time limit and solving time is not considered
+Actively maintained: the schedule deck was updated 20 August 2026 and the registration form is live

Worth checking yourself

!The programme is unpaid, which changes what this record currently claims. HENNGE states the programme is unpaid but provides comprehensive subsidies. The monthly subsidy amount is not published and accommodation is not among the listed items, so an applicant cannot work out their real out-of-pocket cost in Tokyo
!There is no hard published deadline. Slots are first-come first-served and may close as early as four months before a batch starts or as soon as they fill, so 18 September 2026 is a ceiling, not a promise. Apply well before it
!Only Full-Stack Pathway batches are listed for 2027; no Front-End batch appears even though the page offers both
!Applying to both pathways means two separate applications from two different email addresses, and interns cannot change pathways midway
!Entry bar and commitment: third-year undergraduate or higher, a CS-related degree or equivalent, fluent English, and on-site hours of 10:00 to 19:00 in Tokyo for 4 to 6 weeks
