The Global Climbing Initiative funds local climbing organisations to build lasting economic value in their own communities. The Economic Development category awards up to USD 2,000 for a six-month project, and the money has to go to real activity: guide training, a local guiding business, an instructor certification course, a climbing social enterprise, or a festival that brings income into town. A local leader of the organisation must be the one proposing it. What you get: ➤ Up to USD 2,000 for a six-month project ➤ Recognition as a Global Climbing Initiative grant partner ➤ A finalist meeting with GCI before decisions are made ➤ Applications and questions accepted in any language What you'll do: ➤ Run a locally led project that creates income, jobs or businesses through climbing ➤ Deliver measurable economic outcomes over a six-month project period from October to March ➤ Sign a memorandum of understanding, a code of conduct and a photography agreement ➤ Name GCI as a supporter in public communications about the project ➤ Submit a project summary, photos, metrics and testimonials within 60 days of finishing
