Girl Rising, the girls' rights organisation now merged with She's the First, runs an 18-month fellowship for a global cohort of girls aged 14 to 22. Fellows build a foundation in leadership, activism and organising, and learn how to make change in their own communities through activism projects and campaigns. It is fully virtual and currently runs in English only. **What you get:** - 18 months of training in leadership, activism and organising skills - The chance to create your own project for girls' rights, as past Fellows have done with workbooks, a documentary, a podcast, art shows and a girl-led conference - A place in a global cohort of girls representing six continents - A small monthly data stipend if you need one to take part, paid by bank transfer or M-Pesa, available only to girls in the countries on Girl Rising's stipend list **What you'll do:** - Learn how to make change in your community and the world through activism projects and campaigns - Plan and build a project for girls, inspired by the Global Girls' Bill of Rights - Join online meetings on Saturdays between 5 and 7 PM East Africa Time and attend most of them - Stay in touch with staff and your cohort on WhatsApp **Key dates:** - Applications close 18 October 2026 - Decisions sent by 9 November 2026 **More information:** - Programme page and past Fellows' projects: girlrising.org/girl-rising-fellows - The application is one shared form for the Fellowship and the Girls Advisory Council; pick the Fellowship when asked - Questions about the form: florence@girlrising.org
