About this opportunity

The Green Earth Action Foundation, a UNEP-accredited non-profit based in Geneva, runs a six-month online leadership programme for people taking environmental action in their own communities. Each ambassador designs a local project, receives a GEAF grant to deliver it, and runs it on 4.29 Green Earth Action Day, 29 April 2027, alongside ambassadors in other countries. Training is online, with weekly sessions led by experts from UN agencies and NGOs.

What you'll do:

Plan and run a community project in one of five themes: climate-smart agriculture, environmental education, forestry and biodiversity, marine and water protection, or waste and pollution
Deliver your project on 4.29 Green Earth Action Day, 29 April 2027, then monitor results and submit reports

Who can apply

At least 18 years old at the time of application; no upper age limit
Open to all nationalities
Experience in community outreach and implementing local initiatives
Fluency in English or French, with at least basic English
Available for the full six months at about 5 to 10 hours a week, with a stable internet connection
Apply online with a passport information page, a CV (2 pages max), a motivation letter (1 page max) and a project proposal with budget (5 pages max), plus two referees
Selection includes screening, two interviews and a proposal refinement stage
Selected ambassadors sign a contract and the GEAF Code of Conduct
