Who can apply

  • Must operate in countries defined by the World Bank as low- and middle-income (LMICs); the call names no fixed country list
  • Must be a formally registered for-profit, or operate through a formally established hybrid structure
  • Must have been established no later than December 2023
  • Must improve access to healthcare in LMICs and show measurable social impact, such as improved health indicators or lower out-of-pocket costs
  • Must combine physical and digital healthcare delivery
  • Low-income and underserved people (the bottom 40 percent of a country's income distribution) must make up at least 30 percent of the customer base
  • At least 50 percent of income must come from earned revenue, with a market-based model that can scale
  • Must already serve at least 50,000 people and show potential for substantial growth over the next two to three years
  • Must have a strong management team with clearly distributed responsibilities and a diverse workforce
  • Must comply with local law and be allowed to receive funding from a Swiss non-governmental organisation
  • Applications must be in English
  • Priority for gender-inclusive enterprises, and preference for those with at least one female founder or at least 30 percent women in management
