The DAAD–Procope Scholarship Program 2026 is a bilateral research collaboration initiative jointly supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Established in 1986, the Procope Programme promotes scientific cooperation between Germany and France by enabling academic teams to build structured research partnerships through short-term mobility and collaborative project development. Unlike traditional degree scholarships, this programme focuses on research exchange and institutional collaboration, funding mobility-related costs such as travel between France and Germany, daily subsistence allowances, and repeated short-term research visits over a two-year project period, with average annual funding of approximately €6,000. Projects must be submitted jointly by one German and one French research team affiliated with a university or recognized research institution, with strong encouragement for PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers to participate. Competitive proposals demonstrate clear scientific objectives, complementary expertise between partner institutions, and potential to evolve into larger EU-level research programmes. The programme is not suitable for undergraduate students, standalone Master's applicants, or individuals without institutional affiliation. Funding begins in January 2027, with an application deadline of 1 July 2026.
