Coefficient Giving, the funder formerly known as Open Philanthropy, is inviting expressions of interest for Launchpad Funds: new or scalable funds that each tackle one important, underfunded problem in global health and wellbeing, such as lead exposure or malaria in a single country. Each fund is led by a general manager who is personally accountable for the outcome and regrants to the organisations doing the work. This is serious money for serious operators, aimed at people ready to run a fund full time. **What you get:** - Pre-seed track: $200,000 to $10 million over up to 24 months, to develop a fund's idea and strategy, build a team and, at the top of the range, make early exploratory grants - Seed and scaling track: $10 million to $50 million or more over up to 36 months, mostly for regranting or direct implementation toward the fund's goal - Thought partnership from the Coefficient Giving team, which grows with the size of the grant - A path toward a fund that could deploy $100 million or more from other funders over the following years **What you'll do:** - Submit a short expression of interest, which Coefficient Giving expects to take one to two hours - Write 1,000 words on the proposed fund: the outcome or topic it would own, how it scores on importance, tractability and neglectedness, and why it could become a $100 million idea - Write 300 words on why you, or the head of your team, are well placed to lead it, and give a rough budget range - If advanced, write a longer strategy proposal and iterate with the team, possibly including cost-effectiveness estimates **Key dates:** - Expressions of interest due October 2, 2026 - Pre-seed decisions made on a rolling basis, with final decisions targeted by December 15, 2026 - Seed and scaling decisions made on a rolling basis, with final decisions targeted by May 1, 2027 **More information:** - Questions go to launchpad@coefficientgiving.org - Coefficient Giving may share application materials with other interested funders unless you ask them to check with you first - No individual feedback will be given - Proposals that directly overlap one of Coefficient Giving's own internal funds, such as its Strep A Vaccine Fund, are unlikely to go forward
