About this opportunity

People Powered runs the Climate Democracy Accelerator, a six-month practice-oriented program that trains 30 government and civil society leaders to design and run participatory processes for a just climate transition across regenerative agriculture and renewable energy.

What you get:

➤ $10,000 implementation grant for every selected participant ➤ Additional $15,000 award for the top five action plans in the cohort ➤ A dedicated mentor to guide your program design and rollout ➤ Live sessions, online courses, and workshops led by in-country lead partners ➤ Access to the Participation Playbook and localized case studies ➤ A country-based peer group for feedback and collaboration ➤ Twelve months after the program to implement your funded action plan What you'll do:

➤ Develop an action plan for a participatory climate project in your community ➤ Engage internal and external stakeholders to refine the plan ➤ Attend training, mentorship, and peer support sessions averaging two to three hours per week ➤ Report on progress through surveys and learning reports ➤ Implement the funded plan over the 12 months after the cohort ends Applications close June 26, 2026 at 5:00 PM UTC. The cohort runs September 2026 to March 2027, with implementation through March 2028.

Open to government bodies, civil society organizations, and NGOs, not individuals
Government applicants must partner with a civil society or non-governmental organization
Priority for applicants from Brazil, Indonesia, India, and Mexico, with spots for other countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America
Lead participant must have professional proficiency in English, French, Portuguese, or Spanish
Civil society applicants need at least one year of operations, paid staff, a board, and nonprofit registration
Programs must focus on regenerative agriculture or renewable energy
