CHT Emerging Voices Fellowship

  • Organization: Center for Humane Technology (CHT)
  • Type: Fellowship
  • Location: Global
  • Deadline: July 12, 2026
  • Funding: Fully Funded

The Emerging Voices in AI and Society Fellowship is a new, paid remote fellowship from the Center for Humane Technology (CHT), a nonprofit focused on making technology work better for people. This is a pilot cohort of just 3 fellows, running 6 months from September 2026 through March 2027, at 15 hours per week. Fellows receive a $30,000 stipend paid across three milestones. CHT has identified five focus areas and will select one fellow per area: AI and Cognition (what AI is doing to how we think, learn, and reason), AI and Relationships (how AI companions and social tools are reshaping human connection), and AI and Surveillance (how AI-powered tracking and behavioral inference is expanding what states and corporations can know about people), plus two additional areas not fully shown. You can apply to up to two focus areas. The fellowship is designed for people who can bring rigorous empirical, philosophical, or interdisciplinary thinking to these questions, whether that's through research, writing, or policy work. It's a good fit if you want to do serious, original work on AI's social impacts alongside a team that's already shaping public conversation on these issues. The application deadline is July 12, 2026.
