About this opportunity

The programme seeks innovative projects that accelerate adoption of electric cooking (eCooking) in Africa, reducing black carbon emissions and improving health outcomes. Focus areas (proposals must cover at least 3):

Locally appropriate eCooking technologies → appliances adapted to African culinary traditions (multi‑pot, high‑heat, communal meals).
Energy access planning & infrastructure integration → reliable electricity via grid, mini‑grid, or off‑grid systems.
Financial inclusion & affordability models → pay‑as‑you‑go, microloans, subsidies, carbon finance.
Women’s empowerment & behaviour change → leadership in the eCooking value chain, community engagement, social acceptance. Programme goals:
Reduce household air pollution and black carbon emissions
Improve health outcomes (respiratory disease, maternal health, child health)
Empower women and communities
Unlock economic opportunities in clean cooking

Who can apply

Must be a non‑profit entity (NGO, IGO, government agency)
For‑profit entities may participate as collaborators/co‑funders, but cannot receive CCAC funding
Proposals must:
Be in consortiums (≥2 organisations)
Target innovative, scalable approaches
Demonstrate measurable emissions reductions and health impacts
Last less than 24 months
Comply with CCAC gender criteria
Co‑funding or in‑kind contributions encouraged
