The programme seeks innovative projects that accelerate adoption of electric cooking (eCooking) in Africa, reducing black carbon emissions and improving health outcomes. Focus areas (proposals must cover at least 3): - Locally appropriate eCooking technologies → appliances adapted to African culinary traditions (multi‑pot, high‑heat, communal meals). - Energy access planning & infrastructure integration → reliable electricity via grid, mini‑grid, or off‑grid systems. - Financial inclusion & affordability models → pay‑as‑you‑go, microloans, subsidies, carbon finance. - Women’s empowerment & behaviour change → leadership in the eCooking value chain, community engagement, social acceptance. Programme goals: - Reduce household air pollution and black carbon emissions - Improve health outcomes (respiratory disease, maternal health, child health) - Empower women and communities - Unlock economic opportunities in clean cooking
