Canada's Volunteer Awards is a Government of Canada recognition program run by Employment and Social Development Canada. Nominations are submitted by a third party, so the nominee does not apply for themselves.

What you get:

➤ A CAD 10,000 grant to a registered Canadian non-profit chosen by the recipient of the national Thérèse Casgrain Lifelong Achievement Award ➤ A CAD 5,000 grant to a registered Canadian non-profit chosen by each regional award recipient ➤ Recognition at a national awards ceremony ➤ A certificate for every recipient ➤ A national media profile through the program's channels What you'll do:

➤ Choose the right category from Community Leader, Emerging Leader, Business Leader, Social Innovator, or Lifelong Achievement ➤ Confirm the nominee meets eligibility and secure their consent ➤ Gather letters of support from people with direct knowledge of the nominee's work ➤ Answer the assessment criteria covering role, impact, reach, and engagement ➤ Submit the nomination through the online system before the deadline Twenty regional awards are issued across five regions plus one national award. Political and public advocacy work is not eligible, and only one nomination per nominee is accepted. The Emerging Leader category recognises recipients aged 18 to 30.
