$10,000 UNESCO Youth for Peace

This is UNESCO's flagship leadership programme for young people working on social cohesion, inclusion, and peace through intercultural dialogue. Now in its second edition, the programme runs in three phases: an online training series, a funded community action project, and global engagement opportunities. Selected participants get workshops on intercultural leadership, conflict mediation, strategic communication, and how AI is reshaping cross-cultural connection. The 2026 theme is human connection in the age of AI, so participants will dig into issues like algorithmic bias, misinformation, digital inequality, and how technology can either deepen or bridge cultural divides. The practical centerpiece is Phase 2, where each participant designs and leads their own intercultural dialogue initiative in their community, backed by USD 10,000 in seed funding. Beyond the money, participants join a global network of emerging leaders, contribute to UNESCO's international policy conversations, and get a platform to scale their work. The programme is part of UNESCO's broader Road to Peace initiative. It's aimed at emerging leaders who are already doing work around dialogue, inclusion, or peacebuilding and want the skills, funding, and network to take it further. The application deadline for the second edition is 19 July 2026.
