Painting workshops for an orphanage, and a gallery to come
Diffo Corine Claire is president of Empathy Art Initiative, an association that has run three projects so far and wants to open its own gallery.
The first thing Empathy Art Initiative did was a painting workshop for orphans at Christmas, with a donation so the day would be memorable. Diffo Corine Claire suggested it. "It was just so heartwarming to see the joy in these children's eyes and how they took the painting seriously," she says.
She is the association's president, and she created it, she says, out of her love for fine art. The goal was to promote fine art, valorise artists and engage in social works with the members' talent.
“Unstoppable”

Three projects so far. The orphanage workshop, with a donation of first necessities, was the first. Then came a painting workshop with autistic children, "to help canalise their concentration and have them feel blissful experience," she says. And an art tour therapy trip to a resort, to generate income for the association so it can buy painting materials and, in the near future, open its gallery.
Since then, she says, things have been on the low. She was the only one providing financial resources, with the other member providing materials and their skills for the workshops.
She is a student at the Advanced School of Mass Communication. Art in Cameroon, she says, is not given the value it should be. The association is open for donations.
