Each year, hundreds of professional journalists from around the world apply for 10 WPI fellowship slots. The chosen finalists represent some of the best journalists in their respective countries. They are innately curious, intelligent and ambitious, and approach journalism with a deep sense of dedication and responsibility. Duration: 9 weeks (cross‑country program in the U.S.) Base: Begins and ends in Minneapolis–St. Paul, Minnesota Itinerary: Visits to Washington D.C., Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, and other U.S. cities Activities: - Meetings with media outlets, think tanks, advocacy organizations - Exposure to U.S. history, politics, and current affairs - Reporting on social, economic, and political issues - Roundtable discussions and evaluations Coverage: WPI pays for airfare, U.S. travel, lodging, and provides a daily food allowance. Fellows cover personal expenses (phone, clothing, etc.).
