About this opportunity

The Women Who Lead Governance Fellowship is a unique professional development opportunity for women across Canada in healthcare interested in breaking into the boardroom. Through leading faculty of governance experts, Board recruitment specialists and women in healthcare serving on non-profit boards, this program will give women a foundation in healthcare governance and direction on pursuing Board of Directors opportunities.

Duration: 4 months (March–June 2025) Format: 10 hours of programming across 3 core sessions + 1 optional session Sessions:

Boardroom Basics (March 18, virtual) — governance education, nonprofit board fundamentals
Rise to the Top (April 15, virtual) — tools for board recruitment, bios, applications, interviews
Leadership & Influence (May 21, in‑person, Toronto) — panel with women serving on healthcare boards
Mock Board Interviews (June 18, optional, in‑person, Toronto) — practice interviews in speed‑dating style Faculty: Governance experts, board recruitment specialists, and women leaders in healthcare Cohort Size: 30 fellows selected

Women across Canada in healthcare at all career stages
Interest in board governance and passion to make an impact
Content geared toward those breaking into the boardroom (first board role) but also helpful for early board experience
Must commit to ~10 hours of programming over 4 months
Responsible for own travel expenses to Toronto for in‑person sessions
