About this opportunity

This fellowship strengthens the capability, confidence, and influence of African women scientists to lead climate‑resilient agricultural research. Inspired by the AWARD Fellowship model, it combines leadership development, mentoring partnerships, and technical excellence to position fellows as influential actors in agrifood systems. Fellows engage in mentoring (as both mentor and mentee), leadership and negotiation training, gender integration in climate adaptation, and science communication courses.

Who can apply

Must be an African woman scientist
Minimum 7 years of experience in agriculture, agrifood systems, gender, or climate research
At least a master’s degree in a relevant discipline (agriculture, economics, extension, natural resources, food science, nutrition, climate science, etc.)
Must be a national of target countries and residing in Africa
Demonstrated motivation to influence gender‑responsive, climate‑resilient, and transformative research
Proficiency in English or French
Applications via online portal (English or French versions available)

Graduate student
Running a project or organization
Working (full-time or part-time)
