The USGBC Center for Green Schools runs the 2026 to 2027 School Air Quality Fellowship, a nine-month program that equips K-12 public school district staff to plan for cleaner indoor air and more energy-efficient school systems. The cohort selects up to 50 fellows from across the United States. What you get: ➤ Up to USD 30,000 in mini-grant funding through a collaboration with the American Lung Association ➤ Up to USD 35,000 total package value across professional development, travel, and mini-grants ➤ Fully paid Building Operator Certification, REHS/RS, and LEED Green Associate credentials ➤ Travel to the Green Schools Conference in Austin plus the School Facilities Leadership Summit ➤ Personalised training and technical assistance from indoor air quality and energy experts ➤ Peer networking with school district staff nationwide What you'll do: ➤ Develop written, proactive indoor air quality guidelines for your district ➤ Build energy-efficient HVAC and ventilation plans alongside air quality priorities ➤ Apply industry-led training to real district challenges ➤ Attend the Green Schools Conference and Leadership Summit in person ➤ Earn the professional credentials covered by the fellowship The fellowship builds on 14 years of Center for Green Schools programming. Applicants submit a signed letter of support from their direct supervisor. Alumni describe the network and resources as a career-defining asset for school facilities and sustainability leaders.
