Up to $2,500 Karma Project Grant

United We Om, a New York yoga and meditation nonprofit founded in 2015, gives micro-grants of $500 to $2,500 to people and very small nonprofits doing acts of selfless service in their own communities across the United States. Past Karma Projects range from yoga for people with disabilities to community gardens and youth groups. Projects must be free to participants and led by someone from the community they serve.

What you get:

• A micro-grant of $500 to $2,500, paid against a line-item budget
• Up to $50 an hour for your own service time, if you choose to pay yourself
• A United We Om representative and access to its board's experience and contacts

What you'll do:

• Run your project within six months of receiving the grant
• Send monthly check-ins, plus narrative, data and financial reports at the midpoint and the end

Key dates:

• Spring 2027 window opened November 1, 2026
• Applications close December 31, 2026 at midnight
• Committee review in January and February 2027, finalists contacted in March
• Grants awarded in April 2027

• Must live in and do the service work in the United States
• Project must be led by someone from the community it serves
• Must be Karma Yoga, selfless service; preference for unpaid service work
• Fully formed project with goals, timeline, line-item budget and personnel; no projects in development
• Free to participants: no fees or by-donation events, no membership
• No one-day events, no religious content, no political activism, no for-profit benefit
• No therapy or medical advice unless actively licensed
• Projects over $2,500 need the rest of the funding already in place, with proof
• Classes or workshops need a description of each class and the instructor's qualifications
