The timbuktoo MineTech Hub and the United Nations Development Programme are inviting teams in six African countries to turn real mining and mineral exploration challenges into technology solutions. You do not need a finished product or a company: a clearly defined idea that answers one of the challenge briefs set by the national UniPods is enough to apply. **What you get:** - Technical mentorship from experts, universities, geological institutions and mining practitioners - Industry engagement to test whether your solution meets real user needs - Prototype development support at the UniPods and MineTech Hub facilities - Business model, market validation and commercialisation support - A chance for selected teams to compete for seed funding to build a first prototype; no amount is published - A route into MineTech Hub incubation for high-potential teams **What you'll do:** - Respond to your country's challenge brief with a technology idea for exploring, surveying or analysing mineral resources - Validate the problem, users and business case over a 10-week pre-incubation - Pitch for selection, then build a low-fidelity prototype in a hybrid programme with hands-on work at your UniPod **Key dates:** - Applications close 15 October 2026 (UNDP's page says 16 October; the application form says 15 October) **More information:** - Read your country's challenge brief, linked from the application form, before applying - Questions: zambia.minetech.hub@undp.org or coordinator@unipod.org.mw
