$20 an Hour TechCongress Communications Internship

TechCongress, a nonpartisan nonprofit that places technologists in Congress and state legislatures as fellows, is hiring a paid Communications Intern for its winter/spring 2027 term. The internship runs from early January to mid May 2027, pays $20 an hour, and is hybrid, with at least two days a week in the Washington, D.C. office. It suits a student or recent graduate with strong writing skills and an interest in Congress or technology policy.

What you'll do:

• Tell fellows' stories through fact sheets, blog posts, social media campaigns and press materials
• Produce the monthly Policy Opportunities for Technologists jobs newsletter in MailChimp
• Help roll out TechCongress's first brand guide across its materials
• Keep fellowship impact data and press coverage records current
• Draft website content and run campaigns on LinkedIn, X and Bluesky, and analyse engagement
• Support the 2027 fellow orientation, 2028 recruitment events, panels, webinars and networking events

Key dates:

• Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; those submitted by Friday, November 6, 2026 are prioritised
• Applications close Tuesday, November 10, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET
• Internship runs early January to mid May 2027; an early January start is preferred
