About this opportunity

This fellowship supports two science journalists to attend the Abel Prize Week, covering travel, accommodation, and access to official events. Fellows will meet leading mathematicians, attend the award ceremony, and interview Abel Prize laureates.

Who can apply

Must be a professional science journalist (staff or freelance)
Must show recent experience (within 5 years) in science journalism, preferably mathematics/fundamental science coverage
Must commit to attending the full Abel Prize Week (May 25–28, 2026)
Application must include:
CV + contact info
One‑page essay (max 500 words) on motivation and journalistic plan
Three published works (print, audio, or video; English summary if not in English)
Copy of passport ID page
Selection by WFSJ jury; winners notified April 18, 202
Working (full-time or part-time)
Volunteer
