About this opportunity

Options Youth is a federally funded program that is facilitated by the Arthur L. Irving Entrepreneurship Centre. This program is intended to assist youth in developing the skills and gaining the experience they need to successfully transition into the labour market.

Options Youth provides an opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and networks through education, training and meaningful work experiences. This program provides guidance, individualized training and mentorship to participants.

This cohort is exclusively for Youth who identify as Black and are living in Nova Scotia.

January 26 – April 26, 2026 – The program’s session duration is one and a half hours (two days a week).
A 13-week, paid, full-time program designed to help participants build skills, confidence, and practical experience to support their transition into the labour market (including self-employment pathways).
Participants receive ongoing training, support and mentorship.
Participants are paid full-time wage for 13 weeks.
All programming delivered online through ZOOM.
Only 15 spots available.

Who can apply

Must be Black youth aged 18–30 living in Nova Scotia.
Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Commitment to attend online sessions and participate fully in the program.
Priority for applicants from equity‑deserving groups.
