NOHA, a network of eight European universities, runs the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's in International Humanitarian Action, a two-year degree for people working or planning to work in humanitarian response. For the 2027 to 2029 intake it offers 16 EU-funded Erasmus Mundus scholarships worth €1,400 a month for 24 months, open to applicants from anywhere in the world. Who can apply

  • A bachelor's degree (at least 180 ECTS) in a discipline relevant to humanitarian action, completed by 15 December 2026 to be eligible for the scholarship
  • C1 English (IELTS 6.5 with no component under 6.0, TOEFL iBT C1, or Cambridge CAE or CPE), unless English is your native language or your whole bachelor's was taught in English; C1 French for Aix-Marseille, B2 Spanish for a first semester at Deusto
  • Scholarship applicants must submit every document, including language certificates, by the 15 December deadline; late scores are only accepted for self-funded applicants
  • Two signed reference letters in English, written within the last two years, not from family members
  • Proof of residence issued within 12 months of the deadline (a municipal residence certificate, an employer or institution certificate, or a notarised document); passports, national IDs and utility bills are not accepted
  • You cannot have already held an Erasmus Mundus Master's or Joint Doctorate scholarship
  • You must study full time, in at least two countries other than your country of residence
  • Open to all nationalities: 4 scholarships for Erasmus+ Programme Country candidates, 8 for Partner Country candidates and 4 for targeted world regions, with no more than 10 percent going to any one nationality
