About this opportunity

The fellowship is named after Professor Kwame Karikari, founder of the Media Foundation for West Africa. It is designed to institutionalize fact‑checking in newsrooms and build knowledge around information disorder in Africa. Fellows either:

Journalist Track: Incorporate fact‑checking into reporting.
Research Track: Conduct original academic research on disinformation.

Benefits

Monthly stipend covering costs of investigation or research
Mentorship and editorial support from DUBAWA/IDAC
Publication of outputs (fact‑checks or research papers)
Contribution to regional knowledge on disinformation and media accountability

Who can apply

Must be a journalist or researcher based in Anglophone West Africa
