About this opportunity

The International Fellowships programme provides support for outstanding early career researchers to make a first step towards developing an independent research career through gaining experience across international borders. Each award is expected to involve a specific and protected research focus with the award holder undertaking high quality, original research.

Benefits include:

Two‑year fellowship at a UK host institution
Salary support at 80% FEC (Full Economic Cost)
Research expenses up to £12,000 GBP
Relocation costs up to £8,000 GBP
Alumni funding opportunities for networking after fellowship completion

Aim: Build a globally connected, mobile research and innovation workforce.

Who can apply

PhD completed (or viva before June 1, 2026)
No more than 5 years of active full‑time postdoctoral experience
Must be working outside the UK and not hold UK citizenship
Competence in oral and written English
Must have a defined research proposal with a UK host researcher
Graduate student
In a postgraduate program
Working (full-time or part-time)
