The Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship is a highly competitive, full-time, six-to-nine-month fellowship in Washington, D.C. for recent graduates passionate about international peace and security. Fellows work with leading think tanks and advocacy organizations on arms control, conflict resolution, diplomacy, and global security policy. The program includes mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities with policy experts and decision-makers.

Who can apply

Have received a bachelor’s or master’s degree within the past few years
Demonstrate strong academic performance and excellent communication skills
Show a background and interest in one or more approved peace and security policy issues
Have prior experience in public-interest activism or advocacy (highly desirable)
Be considering a career in international peace and security through public-interest organizations, government, academia, or media
Be a U.S. citizen (living in the U.S. or abroad)
OR —
Be a non-U.S. citizen living in the U.S. with a valid U.S. work visa for the full fellowship duration
✘ Non-U.S. citizens living outside the U.S. are not eligible
Have completed a baccalaureate degree by the fellowship start date
Be applying to work with a host organization, not to conduct independent research
