The Restoration Stewards Program is a year-long fellowship supporting young people leading on-the-ground restoration projects in forests, oceans, wetlands, drylands, rangelands, and other landscapes. Each Steward receives EUR 5,000 in flexible trust-based funding that can be spent however best supports their project, plus expert mentorship from scientists and technical practitioners through CIFOR-ICRAF’s global network. The fellowship is one of the most respected youth-restoration platforms globally, with priority for women-led, locally-led, and Indigenous-led projects across the Global South.
