About this opportunity

The Frédéric Bastiat Fellowship is a one-year, competitive fellowship program awarded to graduate students attending master’s, juris doctoral, and doctoral programs in a variety of fields including economics, law, political science, and public policy.

Fellows receive up to USD $5,000. Covers: stipend, travel, lodging, and materials for colloquia. Format: One‑year fellowship. Focus: Introduces fellows to key thinkers in political economy (Austrian, Virginia, and Bloomington schools). Activities:

Three weekend colloquia during the academic year.
One week of summer workshops.
Readings, seminars, and mentorship from Mercatus scholars. Impact: Builds a network of Mercatus students, alumni, and faculty engaged in contemporary political economy research.

Who can apply

Must be enrolled in a Master’s, law, or MBA program (any discipline, any university).
Open to all nationalities.
Must commit to attending three weekend colloquia and one summer week in residence.
