Up to €15,000 Concern Global Citizenship Education Grant

Concern Worldwide, the Irish humanitarian organisation, gives seed grants of EUR 2,500 to EUR 15,000 to organisations running Global Citizenship Education projects with communities on the island of Ireland. Projects explore the root causes of poverty, inequality and conflict with youth groups, adult and community learners, colleges, or the wider GCE sector, with a particular focus on people who otherwise have little access to this kind of learning.

What you get:

• A grant of between EUR 2,500 and EUR 15,000 for your project
• Feedback on your application, with decisions given at the start of February

What you'll do:

• Deliver a Global Citizenship Education project with youth in non-formal education, adult and community learners, third level students, or the GCE sector itself
• Help participants understand the root causes of global challenges and take informed action
• Measure the project's impact and send Concern a report on its reporting template by 1 March at the end of the grant period

Key dates:

• Concern says the call is open from October to December each year
• Applications close 1 January each year (1 January 2027 for this round, if it runs to the published pattern)

• Open to organisations, not individuals
• The organisation must work with communities on the island of Ireland (Ireland or Northern Ireland)
• The project must deliver Global Citizenship Education as Concern defines it
• Target audience: youth in non-formal education, adult and community education, higher education, or the GCE sector for profile building and advocacy
• The form asks about your governance structure, safeguarding policy, any Irish Aid GCE funding and IDEA Code of Good Practice membership
• Organisations reapplying with an active grant will have a short progress meeting as part of the process
