Amref Health Africa and the ARCH Program Consortium, through the Pan-African Center for Research and Policy in Climate Change and Health (CPRCCH), are funding early career researchers in nine Eastern and Southern African countries who already hold climate-and-health data. Each award of up to USD 5,000 pays for turning that existing data into a finished manuscript, policy brief or technical paper within 12 months. It does not fund new data collection. **What you get:** - Up to USD 5,000 in catalytic research funding - Structured mentorship and technical guidance on analysis, interpretation and writing - Capacity strengthening in research skills - Support turning findings into evidence for policy and practice - Connection to a Pan-African network of climate and health researchers and practitioners **What you'll do:** - Analyse an existing climate-and-health dataset you have already collected - Produce one primary technical output: a manuscript, policy brief, evidence brief or technical paper - Produce one dissemination output and a final reflection report - Take part in the programme's mentorship, training, peer learning and dissemination activities, which are a condition of the award - Deliver the work within a maximum of 12 months **Key dates:** - Applications close September 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EAT - Projects run for up to 12 months after award **More information:** - Application takes about 30 to 45 minutes and progress can be saved - Required documents: 1-page motivation letter, 4-page CV, 5-page concept note, institutional support letter, two reference letters, ethics approval where applicable, and a month-by-month work plan and budget - All documents as PDF, maximum 750 KB each - Only shortlisted applicants are contacted; no feedback on unsuccessful applications - Enquiries: ECR.CatalystAwards@amref.org
