The Council on Foreign Relations, the New York based foreign policy think tank that publishes Foreign Affairs, runs one of the best known paid internship programmes in its field. Spring 2027 interns spend a semester working 14 to 18 hours a week on research, writing, editing and events with one of more than 30 teams, from China strategy and defence to AI engineering and data visualisation.
