About this opportunity

A year‑long fellowship for individuals of all ages to pursue intensive study and project development in one of six fields: Economics, Science, Technology, Consciousness, Health, or Culture. Fellows may choose from listed topics or propose their own, provided they align with the Institute’s mission of advancing human knowledge and the human condition.

Benefits include:

$30,000 USD stipend
Primarily virtual fellowship with two paid in‑person visits to Florida (August 2026 & May 2027)
Monthly meetings and quarterly progress reports with Institute staff
Structured mentorship and incubation support for projects
Travel and lodging covered for required in‑person presentations
Post‑fellowship mentorship role for future cohorts

Who can apply

Open to individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and disciplines
No requirement to be enrolled in a university or academic program
Commitment of ~20 hours per week (~1,000 hours across fellowship year)
Strong intrinsic motivation and ability to carry out proposed project
Attendance at two in‑person Institute meetings (August 21, 2026 & May 21, 2027)
Final deliverables may include manuscripts, startups, organizations, video/documentary series, or datasets
