A smartwatch that tracks environmentally friendly actions and provides personalized recommendations to encourage positive daily choices. That is what Ecozyon Tech is developing, the startup Hediye Dagesen is building with her co-founder, combining wearable technology and artificial intelligence to help people build more sustainable habits.

The team is at the prototype stage. They are developing their first prototype and researching sustainable materials. "Building a hardware startup as students has been challenging, but every obstacle has taught us something new," she says. She studies at Istanbul Nisantasi University.

“I am the truth of immortality that emerges when hope is lost.”

Her interest in sustainability grew, she says, through serving as a STEM Educator Ambassador with the NASA GISS Climate Change Research Initiative. "These opportunities showed me that technology can be a powerful tool for addressing climate challenges, but only if it reaches and inspires people," she says.

Ecozyon Tech has received support from the UNESCO x Nestlé Youth Impact Programme. That support, she says, "gave us confidence that our idea has potential." The company is still in its early stages.

She has also recently submitted an abstract to AGU26, building on Ecozyon Tech's work and exploring the integration of NASA Earth observation data, environmental sensing, and AI for climate-adaptive solutions.

Her long-term goal is to introduce children to STEM through hands-on workshops focused on sustainability, engineering, and innovation.
