About this opportunity

WomenStrong International, a New York based funder of women-led organisations, is inviting expressions of interest from women-led grassroots organisations in Francophone West Africa. Selected organisations become grantee partners and receive flexible, multiyear, unrestricted funding of up to US$50,000 a year, plus tailored support to build financial resilience at a time when funding for this work is shrinking. The call is open in English and French.

Share what you learn about alternative financing and organisational strengthening with peers and funders

Who can apply

Led by women, who hold the majority of leadership positions (WomenStrong supports women, girls, trans and nonbinary people)
Led by nationals based in the country of operation
Has a local governing body representing the communities and populations it serves
Operates in at least one of Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Senegal or Togo
Registered in its country of operation as a nonprofit or local equivalent
Annual budget of less than US$1 million
Has another donor or source of income at the time of application
Provides locally led, gender-responsive services and/or advocacy for women and girls
Interested in self-identified strategies for financial resilience, revenue diversification and organisational resilience
Willing to take part in peer exchange and organisational strengthening support
Has at least two staff or volunteers, and can send one or two representatives to the Learning Lab regularly
