The WFP Innovation Accelerator and the Adaptation Fund are funding climate adaptation ventures in their third cohort, this one built around Latin America and the Caribbean. They want low tech and high tech solutions that strengthen resilience and food security in the Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Peru, and they take applications from organisations anywhere in the world that can implement there. Selected teams move through a bootcamp, a nine month sprint and a scale-up phase, with equity free funding at each stage. **What you get:** - Up to USD 75,000 in equity free funding for up to 10 teams in the nine month Validation Sprint - Up to USD 150,000 more for up to five teams in the Scale-Up Catalyst phase - A cumulative cap of USD 150,000 per team for seed stage solutions, or USD 250,000 for growth stage - Travel expenses covered for up to 12 teams at the two week Innovation Bootcamp - Innovation coaching, in-field support and access to WFP country operations - A WFP innovation consultant assigned to guide your pilot - Monitoring and evaluation setup, investment readiness support and ecosystem activation - A virtual pitch event in front of ecosystem players at the end of the programme - WFP takes no equity in your organisation **What you'll do:** - Week one of the bootcamp is virtual: scoping sessions and online training in human centred design and lean startup - Week two is a five day in person bootcamp where you sharpen the solution and build your sprint plan - Run a nine month pilot in the Dominican Republic, El Salvador or Peru - Set up monitoring and evaluation, and work toward investment readiness - Apply competitively for the Scale-Up Catalyst phase, with WFP support on scaling strategy and partnerships **Key dates:** - Applications close September 6, 2026 at 11:59 PM UTC - Interviews for teams that pass initial screening, October to November 2026 - 10 to 12 applications selected, November 2026 - Innovation bootcamp, January 2027 - Final results communicated, early 2027 - Validation Sprint runs nine months **More information:** - The call for applications is published in English and Spanish, and lists the priority areas country by country - The form takes about 60 minutes, cannot be edited once submitted and is not emailed back to you, so save your answers first - You may submit more than one application if each is for a genuinely separate solution - Applications are confidential and WFP contacts applicants before sharing anything externally - Questions go to global.innovation@wfp.org
