About this opportunity

The YEP was created under the motto “30 below 30, to get 2030” to bring youth voices directly into UNOPS decision‑making. Programme features:

Duration: 12 months (home‑based, remote)
Role: Youth advisor to UNOPS leadership
Focus areas: Infrastructure, procurement, climate, fragility, project management, youth‑inclusive policy
Activities:
Provide youth‑led insights on SDG and development trends
Advise UNOPS leadership on strategies and frameworks
Represent youth perspectives in internal briefings and selected international forums
Strengthen youth‑inclusive approaches in UNOPS operations Benefits:
Professional development and mentorship
Exposure to UN system decision‑making
Networking with peers and global experts
Travel costs covered only when representing UNOPS externally (otherwise pro‑bono)

Who can apply

Age 17–29
Passion for sustainable development and SDGs
Demonstrated youth leadership or community engagement experience
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Fluency in English (Spanish/French desirable)
Must submit:

Description of a project/initiative (max 2000 characters)
90‑second video explaining passion for sustainable development
