Rural Youth Europe, the Brussels-based umbrella for rural youth organisations founded in 1957, and the Rural Youth Parliament in Slovakia are bringing 25 young people to Hokovce, Slovakia, from 8 to 13 November 2026 for the SUSTAIN Seminar. Four days of peer learning on how to keep a rural youth organisation alive, well governed and heard in Brussels, ending in a simulation of the European Parliament. Accommodation, meals and travel are covered and there is no participation fee. **What you get:** - Shared accommodation and all meals from dinner on 8 November to breakfast on 13 November, covered by the organisers - Travel to and from Hokovce reimbursed in line with the Rural Youth Forward project's travel guidelines - No participation fee - A place among 25 rural young people from across Europe, with follow-up through the Erasmus+ co-funded Rural Youth Forward project **What you'll do:** - Assess the organisational health of your own rural youth group: vision, governance, membership, programmes, risk and knowledge transfer - Work through sustainable approaches to leadership, volunteer engagement, generational renewal, financing, partnerships and communication - Learn to use EU participation tools such as Have Your Say, the European Citizens' Initiative, citizens' panels and petitions to the European Parliament - Join a Civic Dialogue with European and national stakeholders, supported by Europe Direct and a Team Europe expert - Take part in a simulation of the European Parliament and negotiate a shared Rural Youth Resolution - Draft a practical action plan for your organisation and recommendations for the project's final policy paper **Key dates:** - Applications close 25 September 2026 - Arrival in Hokovce on 8 November 2026 - Seminar programme 9 to 12 November 2026 - Departure 13 November 2026 **More information:** - Participation is by selection; selected participants receive a confirmation email and are asked not to book travel before then - Questions to greta.demilio@ruralyoutheurope.com - Part of the Rural Youth Forward project, co-funded by the European Union through EACEA
