Rural Youth Europe, the Brussels-based umbrella for rural youth organisations founded in 1957, and the Rural Youth Parliament in Slovakia are bringing 25 young people to Hokovce, Slovakia, from 8 to 13 November 2026 for the SUSTAIN Seminar. Four days of peer learning on how to keep a rural youth organisation alive, well governed and heard in Brussels, ending in a simulation of the European Parliament. Who can apply

  • Aged 18 to 30 at the time of the seminar
  • A national or resident of an Erasmus+ eligible country
  • One of: an active member of a Rural Youth Europe member or partner organisation; a rural young person or young farmer active in a local group, initiative, emerging organisation or national network; or a youth worker, leader or practitioner supporting rural youth through an NGO, informal group or public institution
  • Familiar with or interested in youth work, education, rural development, youth participation, organisational sustainability and policy-making
  • A direct connection to rural communities; priority to applicants from the RYE network and from remote or underserved areas
  • Good working knowledge of English and readiness to take part actively in group work
  • Commitment to the full programme, 8 to 13 November 2026
  • Selection also weighs motivation to follow up with concrete actions, relevant experience to share, and geographical, gender and inclusion balance
