Who can apply

Open to grassroots organisations, community educators, civil society organisations and coalitions, youth movements, and other groups working at the intersection of journalism, civic rights and active citizenship
Past experience developing and running civic engagement activities in the Global South, particularly Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia
Proven experience on the identified topics: rainforest, ocean, or climate and labor
A track record of co-creating projects with communities, and the operational capacity to manage microgrant resources from an international organisation
The project must use at least one published Pulitzer Center supported reporting project meaningfully, or involve a Pulitzer Center supported journalist
Application requires a project description of no more than 400 words, your target audience and desired impact, your methodology, and an implementation timeline and budget
A CV for the lead applicant, including a letter of recommendation from a department head or your organisation's director
If the project involves Indigenous peoples or traditional communities, a signed letter or recorded message showing their consent
Not funded: journalism or reporting projects, projects not using Pulitzer Center supported reporting, direct advocacy or lobbying, campaigns involving political candidates or parties, and for-profit projects
