Who can apply

  • At least 18 years old
  • Resident in the United States
  • As of September 1, 2026, must be at least one of: a W-2 employee without unlimited paid time off, an active 1099 freelancer or independent contractor, or the owner of an active, legally registered business, LLC, nonprofit or C corporation with a valid tax identification number
  • Business owners must confirm the business is legally registered, operating and in good standing as of September 1, 2026
  • Must be able and willing to take the funded day off on or before June 30, 2027
  • Application requires a 60-second video introducing yourself, submitted as a public Google Drive link
  • Application requires a proposed plan for the day off and an explanation of how the $500 makes it possible
  • Not open to people who are unemployed as of September 1, 2026, or to employees who receive unlimited paid time off
  • Not open to Off Worque employees, grant judges, or their immediate family or household members
